Every evening in Karachi, perfectly good food gets thrown out. Every evening, people wish they could afford to eat from their favourite spots. We couldn't stop thinking about that gap.
— FoodLoot Team
Karachi is a food city. Thousands of restaurants, cafés, and bakeries serve millions every day. But the economics of running a food business are unforgiving — surplus is a daily reality, and throwing it away is just an accepted cost of doing business.
We started FoodLoot because we wanted to solve both problems at once: give restaurants a way to recover real revenue from food they'd otherwise waste, while making quality meals genuinely affordable for customers who want them. A simple idea that nobody had built for Pakistan yet.
The city we know best
Karachi has one of the most diverse and vibrant food scenes in the world. Generations of family restaurants, world-class cafés, neighbourhood bakeries — all serving a city of 20 million people with wildly varying budgets.
It also has one of the sharpest splits between what people want to eat and what they can realistically afford. Karachi was the only place to start.

How we got here
Building FoodLoot
The Idea
Watching Karachi's best restaurants throw away end-of-day surplus sparked the question: what if someone could rescue that food? Inspired by food rescue models already working in Europe and Asia.
Building the App
We built from the ground up for how Karachi food businesses actually operate — QR verification, no complicated dashboards, auto-save onboarding, and real-time order alerts that just work.
Karachi Pilot — 2026
Now selecting our first cohort of partner restaurants and cafés. 50+ vendor spots. 500+ meals rescued at launch. The beginning of something much bigger.
The Team
Small team. Big mission.
We're a focused team based in Karachi. We care about food, technology, and building the kind of city where nothing good goes to waste — starting with what's on the plate.
The road ahead
Karachi is just the beginning. Once we've proven the model here, we plan to expand to Lahore, Islamabad, and beyond. We want FoodLoot to be the platform that ends preventable food waste in Pakistan.
Right now, we're focused on getting Karachi right.
